The Department of Physics and Chemistry of the higher normal school, El Katiba Assia Djebar (Constantine), is one of the academic pedagogical departments of the school. It was created by Ministerial Decree No. 305 of 04/13/2014, amending and supplementing Ministerial Order No. 75 of 03/17/2010, establishing the departments making up the higher normal school of Constantine. It relies on a teaching team made up of teacher-researchers, offering students two study streams:

- A four-year course is required to obtain the training of middle school teachers (PEM)

- A five-year course is required to obtain the secondary teachers diploma (PES).

Our department offers a complete range of study programs, ensuring a solid foundation for acquiring a certain mastery in several disciplines, in particular in physics (mechanics, electricity, optics, and astronomy) and chemistry (structure of matter, thermodynamics, organic chemistry, and inorganic chemistry). In addition to mathematics, the student will need to learn about integration and differentiation.

The training emphasizes both the experimental (many hands-on projects) and theoretical aspects (high-level courses and mastery of the most recent digital tools and methods).
